Hard wax beans are the salons’ favourite — and surprisingly simple at home too. They pull off strip-free, gripping the hair, so they’re gentler on the skin than traditional wax. Here’s how to do it right.

1. Melting

Pour the beans into the wax heater and melt to the stated temperature — you’ll get a thick, honey-like consistency. For small amounts an electric heater kit is most convenient; the pot format is ideal for regular use.

2. Applying

Test the temperature on your wrist — warm, not hot. Apply a thicker layer with a spatula in the direction of hair growth, leaving a thicker "lip" at the edge to grab later.

3. Pulling off

Wait 5-10 seconds until the wax sets (no longer sticky to the touch). Hold the skin taut, grab the lip, and pull off against the growth, parallel to the skin, in one quick motion.

Tips for a perfect result

  • Skin should be clean, dry and oil-free; hair 2-5 mm long.
  • On sensitive areas (face, bikini line) work in small sections.
  • Afterwards clean residue with wax-remover oil, then moisturise.

Frequently asked questions

How do you use hard wax beans at home?

Melt them in the heater to the temperature given on the packaging, apply with a spatula in the direction the hair grows, wait for the wax to set, then lift an edge and pull it off. No strip is needed.

Can I melt them in a microwave?

Follow the instructions on the product and on the device. AGISS kits work with an electric heater or a melting pot, and the wax is meant to be melted in those.
