An epilator plucks hair strand by strand with tiny tweezers; many find it a persistent, tingling pain. Wax pulls a larger area at once — more intense, but a shorter moment, and regular waxers say it noticeably eases over time.

Longevity and regrowth

Both work from the root, so results typically last 3–4 weeks. Wax also picks up shorter, downy hairs, so regrowth is often more even — no patchy areas left behind.

Convenience and cost
